2013 was an extremely difficult year for the development of corn deep processing industry in our province. In the face of an extremely complex market environment, although companies are actively tapping the potential for innovation, carrying out industry self-help, striving for policy support, and maintaining stable production, they are ultimately due to the combined effect of many unfavorable factors such as rising raw material prices, sluggish market demand, and continuous decline in product prices. Production and operation are in trouble, and the entire industry has suffered a comprehensive loss for the first time.

In 2013, there were 21 corn deep processing enterprises above designated size in the province (Yanbian Daqiu has withdrawn from the industry), with an annual corn processing capacity of 14.90 million tons. Liuhe Xintiandi Ethanol Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Liuhe Xintiandi) and Fuyu County Huihai Liquor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fuyu Huihai), Songyuan Tianyuan Biochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Songyuan Tianyuan), Songyuan Tianan Biological Products Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as Songyuan Tianan) and other 4 enterprises are in a state of suspension throughout the year.

In 2013, the actual processing of corn was 10.4071 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.56%. The production of various corn products was 5.5039 million tons, of which starch and its processed products were 4,349,200 tons (2.0169 million tons of edible starch, 55,900 tons of modified starch, and starch sugar). 164,100 tons, 45,000 tons of polyols, and 567,300 tons of amino acids), an increase of 4.05% year-on-year; 1.5263 million tons of alcohol and its processed products (9,300 tons of industrial alcohol, 934,400 tons of edible alcohol, and 582,600 tons of fuel ethanol). Increased by 10.48%; 37,700 tons of corn meal; 2.0692 million tons of corn processing by-products (1.3786 million tons of DDGS feed, 128,400 tons of corn germ, and 562,100 tons of other products).

In 2013, the total industrial output value was 32.483 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 49.62%; product sales revenue was 32.60 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 50.54%; total profits and taxes were 303 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 90.40%; total profits were 1.031 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 160.19 %. Among the 17 enterprises that started production, Changchun Dacheng Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Changchun Dacheng), Jilin Kaisai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jilin Kaisai), Cargill Biochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Cargill Biochemical), Dongfeng Hualiang Biochemical Co., Ltd., Jilin Tuopai Agricultural Products (000061, Share Bar) Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jilin Tuopai), Huanglong Food Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Huanglong Food), Jilin Dida Starch Biochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jilin Dida), etc. Seven companies lost money, and the number of loss-making companies increased by 1 year-on-year, with a loss of 1.812 billion yuan. The loss of loss-making companies increased by 566.18% year-on-year; the remaining 10 companies made profits with a profit of 782 million yuan, and the profit of profitable companies fell by 60.60%.
